Hi there! My name is Mr. Pogo and my foster family says that I am a very special little guy so I need a very special family. You see, I was abandoned as a senior, found skinny and tired, but all I needed was some medical care and love to turn things around!

The doctor says I have a congenital heart defect called cardiomyopathy, which means it’s harder for my heart to pump blood than a normal dog. Because I went so many years untreated, my heart is a little larger than it should be too. The good news is I show no symptoms of the disease and it’s easily managed with daily medications. Now that I’m on the correct dose of medication, I’m gaining weight and I have some pep in my step! Another thing that makes me special is I am deaf, but that doesn’t get me down either. My foster family does think I am able to hear some pitches occasionally, though.

Now that we’ve gotten all of that out of the way, let’s talk about all of my perfect qualities. They say I am the very best boy! I am potty trained, I get along with other dogs (big and small) and I love everyone I meet. I’m allowed to free roam the house and even sleep on the couch at night! (My foster mom says I’m the first one to ever be allowed to do that here!) I love to nap, cuddle, play fetch, play tug and food! But, my absolute favorite thing to do is go for walks. I get really excited and start to sing when I see my leash come out! Maybe I could go for one with you?

So if you are looking for an amazing little best friend and have the love in your heart to help me continue on my healing journey, apply to meet me today! I promise you won’t be disappointed.
